Lost in Wonderland
Where do we go from here? Do we keep following the white rabbit down the yellow brick road? Do we stay in the tea party with the Mad Hatter? Why did you make me drink that nasty potion that made me tower over you? Didn't you know that I would lose sight of you? You made me touch the sky and taste the clouds, weren't you afraid that I would like it?
The antidote is just within my reach, I know. One small sip and I will be back to normal, we can continue our adventure together. I look down briefly to see if you're still there but I can't find you. I call out your name a few times...I only hear the Mad Hatter's laugh somewhere beyond the woods. Fear slowly starts building up, have I lost you? I call out your name again and again. Still no answer. Then it hits me, I can't lose you! I empty the whole bottle while my whole body shakes in anxiety. I keep my eyes closed as I feel myself shrinking back, thinking I will never forgive myself if anything happens to you.
I feel your presence even before I open my eyes. Pure peace, it is you. Undeniably, only you. Behind the oak tree you were waiting patiently until I was ready. You tried to run but your feet only took you around the tree and back again. I step into your outstretched arms...I know, I am home.
