Dare You to Move

We used each other to drive out our own demons in tangled strings.

We made love in hate. Physical pleasure and emotional distress combined. Nothing was gained save for more regrets shoved in our respective closets, never to be spoken of again. With the ghosts of your love and mine hovering over us, we exorcised them through a blending of our bodies. There was no warmth, no satisfaction, only the thrill of the illicit.

Afterwards, you left me standing there. A revenge for your bestfriend and my love. The One I walked away from. The One I let go. The One who had me fully and crushed me completely.

You were me with your back turned decisively, walking away without so much a glance back.

It was done. The ties were cut. We were free from each other save for the pinch that meant to say, You're not dead yet. It's alright to feel.
